Athletes who register in the first 90 days are eligible to receive a 50% registration fee refund by the deadline of 4 months prior to race day, or a 25% registration fee refund by the deadline from 4 months to 7 days prior to the event All partial refund requests must be confirmed by the deadlines provided and requested via email to the event specific email.   

Athletes who register in the first 90 days for an IRONMAN or IRONMAN 70.3 event in Malaysia or the Philippines are eligible to transfer to an open 2024 IRONMAN or IRONMAN 70.3 within Malaysia or the Philippines fee-free. Please note, the athlete will be required to pay the price difference if the price of registration for the event in which the athlete is transferring to is higher than the initial registration fee charged at the time of registration. All transfer requests must be confirmed by 45 days prior to the event. Relays are not eligible for transfer. If any additional purchases were made with your registration, these items will not be transferred with your entry.   

The following events on the IRONMAN Asia Calendar are not available for athlete transfer. Please check the event website for the cancellation and withdrawal policies for these events;

1. All transfer and deferral requests must be made at least 45 days before the scheduled race date of the 2024 event for which you initially registered 
2. Transfers are applicable to individual race entries only – team entries and entries purchased through third-party charities and/or travel groups or free of charge entries are not available to transfer. 
3. For all athletes who register within the Flex90 timeframe, no transfer fee will be applied.
4. The event transferred into must be in the same calendar year as the original event year, with the exception of events held in October to December where transfers are available into the following year but not onto the same event in the following year. 
5. If an athlete is transferring from a higher priced race to a lower priced race, the athlete will not be refunded the difference and is still required to pay the transfer fee. 
6. If an athlete is transferring from a lower priced race to a higher priced race, the athlete will be required to pay the difference in addition to the transfer fee. 
7. If an athlete is transferring from or into the longer or shorter distance on the same day (e.g. IRONMAN Malaysia to IRONMAN 70.3 Langkawi), they will not be required to pay the transfer fee, unless the request is made within 45 days of the event date. 
8. Price is based on the Tier 4 pricing of the event you are transferring into.
9. Entry into events where general entries have sold out is not available. 
10. Transfers are not available into an event within 45 days of the race date. Please see specific event websites for cut off dates. 
11. Races to be transferred into will not be available for immediate selection until they have been opened to the general entry for at least ten days.  Any requests made into future events will be processed in order of application once the event transfer window has opened. 
12. Once a transfer has been processed, the athlete is no longer eligible for any additional withdrawal options, including but not limited to, a partial refund, deferral or transfer from their new event, including any additional purchases.  
13. Transfers are non-transferable to another athlete. 
14. Additional purchases including Sportograf and other additional purchases are non-transferable. 

1. To request an event transfer, complete the Transfer Request Form.  
2. After completing the Transfer Request Form, you will receive a confirmation email from Active.com confirming we have received your request (please also check your junk mail).  
3. We will process your transfer within 5 working days.  
4. You will receive a unique registration link for the event you have chosen to transfer in to. You will need to complete the registration information and pay all applicable transfer fees at this point.  

Q: What if the event I want to transfer into sells out before I receive my registration link? 
A: Depending on when you submitted your request, and how much space was remaining in the event, we will still try to accommodate your original request. However, we cannot promise that your first choice will always be granted. 

Q: What communication should I expect after I apply for a transfer and it is approved? 
A: You will receive a cancellation email for the event you are transferring out of, an email containing your registration link for the transferred event and a confirmation of the completed transfer after the registration link is emailed to you. You will be contacted if your first choice is no longer available. If this is the case, we will follow up with you to confirm you still would like entry into your second or third choice of races. 

Q: Can I transfer between regions (ie, an Asia race to an Oceania race)? 
A: At this time, that option is not available.

Q: What if I transfer into another event and I am unable to compete, am I eligible for a refund or additional transfer? 
A: Once a transfer request has been redeemed, athletes are not eligible to receive a refund or an additional transfer should they be unable to compete in the event that was transferred into. Additionally, athletes are not eligible for a deferral to the following year. 

Athletes who registered under Flex90 are eligible to defer their registration to the same event in 2025, at no additional cost. All deferral requests must be made in writing at least 45 days* before the scheduled race day, regardless of the reason for deferral. If any additional purchases were made with your registration, these items will not be deferred with your entry.
