Oceania Deferral Program

For eligible Individual Entries only

Defer your entry fee to the following year - 2026 ANZCO Foods IRONMAN New Zealand regardless of the reason.  

Deferrals are only available for individual entries and athletes who elect to defer their entry forfeit any Athlete Withdrawal eligible refund. The Deferral Program is not available to athletes who have transferred or deferred into this event; or entered the event through the use of an Event Credit, promo entry or complimentary (100% discounted) entry. All deferrals are final.  

Requests to defer must be submitted through the Oceania Deferral Program on or before the dates listed above.

Oceania Transfer Program

For eligible Individual Entries only

Transfer your entry to another IRONMAN or IRONMAN 70.3 in the Oceania Region within the same calendar year.    

If there is an increase in entry fee, you will be required to pay the difference or if there is a reduction in entry fee, this is not refundable. The Oceania Transfer Program is not available to athletes who have transferred or deferred into this event or entered the event through the use of an Event Credit, promo entry or complimentary (100% discounted) entry. All transfers are final.  

Requests to defer must be submitted through the Oceania Transfer Program on or before the dates listed above.

Oceania Athlete Withdrawal Program

If you cannot participate in the event for any reason, entry fee refunds are available in accordance with the above stated Athlete Withdrawal dates only. After the stipulated dates, entry fees are non-refundable for withdrawals initiated by the athlete. Requests for refunds must be notified to the organiser in writing via email at n[email protected].

 Additional purchases paid for at the time of entry (if any) which are paid by the Event Operator to a third-party are not refundable. These non-refundable additional purchases include:  

  • Nirvana Packages (please contact Nirvana directly) 

  • Pre-purchased photo packs (please contact Sportograf directly) 

  • Triathlon New Zealand One-Day Membership (may be refundable prior to the event where Event Operator has not incurred the cost) 

Your options regarding refunds for merchandise purchased during registration are outlined in the Online Stores Terms and Conditions available via https://au.ironmanstore.com/pages/terms-conditions. Please note that refunds are not offered for change of mind merchandise purchases. 

 

Important Registration Information

  • Inclusive of all fees and taxes.
  • Minimum age 18 years as at Race Day.
  • All athletes must have a Triathlon New Zealand membership to race. Existing Triathlon New Zealand members enter using the Triathlon New Zealand Annual Member category and it will automatically validate your AT membership through the registration process. All general entries must pay a one day race membership during the registration NZD$27.96 (Inclusive of all fees and taxes). This ODM supports Triathlon New Zealand programs and supports technical officials for events such as these. For more details see: triathlon.kiwi. This ODM does not include any insurance, however in NZ the Accident Compensation Corporation (ACC) provides no-fault accident injury cover for NZ residents and visitors to NZ.

  • The 2025 Athlete Waiver is available to download here.
  • All athletes must use a unique email address when registering for this event. You will create an IRONMAN profile when you register for the first time. This will provide you with an IRONMAN profile which will be used for all future entries.
  • All athletes including all Relay Team Members must complete the onsite Check-In procedure. Any athlete who does not Check-In will not be eligible to race.

This event takes place in Taupo, New Zealand. It is each athlete’s sole responsibility to ensure that they can attend (including Athlete Check-In during specified times) and compete in the event on the day. Other than as provided for in the Athlete Withdrawal program set out above, no further remedies will be provided for change of mind, change of personal circumstances (including work conflicts), or injury. 

If you decide to withdraw at the event after collecting your race kit at Check-In, please advise Event Information onsite and hand your timing chip in. If you need to withdraw on race day, your details must be recorded by the Drop Out Clerk located at Event Information.

Taupō Kids Fun Run Information

Taupō Kids Fun Run will feature Friday of race week at the 2025 ANZCO Foods IRONMAN New Zealand!

The perfect opportunity for kids to soak up the IRONMAN atmosphere as they conquer their run through Tongariro Domain. 
We believe getting out there is an achievement in itself, which is why every child will receive their very own Taupō Kids Fun Run medal and t-shirt. 

We encourage all children to give it a go, from beginners to future IRONMAN athletes - #AnythingIsPossible. We guarantee it will be a fun and memorable experience for all.

2025 Kids Fun Run Entry Policies

Athlete Withdrawals


If the registered minor cannot participate in the event for any reason, no refunds, transfers or deferrals are available. If the minor wishes to withdraw from the event, the event organiser must be notified in writing via email at [email protected].  

The Minor’s entry is not transferable to another person or child. Any attempt to transfer the Minor’s entry or allow another person to participate under the Minor’s name may result in cancellation without refund and disqualification from participating in future Operator events. 

** Any additional purchases, already paid for on your behalf by IRONMAN to a third-party service provider are not refundable. 

***Athletes who have entered through the use of an Event Credit are not eligible for athlete withdrawal refunds.

FAQ's

What will I receive?
Every participant will receive an IRONKIDS event bib, t-shirt,  recovery food and finishers medal! 

How are Kids identified on course?
All Kids Fun Run participants will have an  event bib to safety pin on the front of their t-shirt.  

What happens on the day?
Kids Fun Run are to Check-In (with a parent/guardian) on Race day between 7:00-7:55am Friday 28th February at Event Information North Domain, Taupō. Check-In will also be open on Thursday 27 February from 09:00am - 5pm..

 

Volunteers

VOLUNTEER INFORMATION

A key part of the success of IRONMAN New Zealand has been the incredible support from more than 2000 volunteers, mostly from the Taupo district. Many return year after year to support the event and you, the athlete. IRONMAN New Zealand simply could not exist if not for the support of the volunteers and their sponsors Mercury. 

From packing your race packs, registration, on course support, marshalling, recovery, massage, medical and many more areas, the Mercury volunteers ensure that your IRONMAN experience is seamless and stress less, maybe even fun! 

You may have many reasons for wanting to volunteer at an event. Perhaps you had participated in the past and now wanted to give something back to the sport, your friends or family may already be involved and they always have a lot of fun, or if you are considering competing in a future IRONMAN event we highly recommend that you consider a volunteer role as this is a great way for you be involved in the event, learn more about the what goes on behind the scenes and will make you appreciate the volunteers even more when you do compete because you have been there! 

Every volunteer has the opportunity to go into the draw to win a free entry and a training programme for the next years IRONMAN event - in case you were looking for any extra incentive!
